#OurStoryIsOne, a community art and awareness campaign
#OurStoryIsOne, a community art and awareness campaign created to commemorate the lives of ten Bahá’í women who were executed in Shiraz, Iran, in 1983 because of their beliefs.
These ten young women came from different backgrounds, but they shared a commitment to their faith, their families, their communities, and the principle that all people deserve the right to live, learn, and practice their beliefs freely. Their lives were taken, but their courage and message of hope continue to inspire people around the world.
#OurStoryIsOne was created as a way to transform remembrance into action. More than 25 artists in Maine have contributed artwork inspired by the stories of these women. Through art, storytelling, music, and conversation, the campaign seeks to raise awareness about religious persecution while emphasizing a message that reaches far beyond one community: our stories are connected, and the well-being of humanity depends on our willingness to stand together.
