Building Communities - Bridging Contninents is Rotary's current mission statement of this year's Rotary International President - Ray Kingingsmith. President Ray Klinginsmith believes that Rotary is the best in the world at linking people of goodwill around the globe and then gaining their cooperations and support to make the world a much better place. With Rotary;s distinquiished heritage and it's bright future, the 33,000 Rotary Clubs will succeed at Building Communities and Bridging Continents.
We are very fortunate to be Rotarians who can and do make a difference in our communities and the world we live in. We can and do make the world and our communities a better place through our humanitarian efforts, fundraisers and projects by sharing our core values of service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership with other people and organizations.
Our club was started in 1926 and will celebrate it's 85th Anniversary in 2011. We have been fortunate over these 85 years to have some of Gorham and Westbrook's finest business men and women as members and leaders. It is my hope that we will continue for another 85 years.
At the recent Changeover Dinner in South Portland, past Rotary International President Cliff Docherman stressed that one of the most important things to do in Rotary while serving others is to have fun. So let's get out there and have some fun Building Communities - Bridging Continents.
